Australian Pride (the song)

Australian Pride (click on link to listen to)

Lyrics below

AUSTRALIAN PRIDE
written and performed by Ricky Street (KRIMPER)
I get a buzz watching Jeff Fenech swing, he got a passionate heart…
Fight with Azumah, me old mate Don King, scammed the man with the gloves
And I watched him fall, tears in his eyes, “I Love You’s All” a true champion’s war cry…
And it always hits me deep inside, I’ve been brought up with Australian Pride
We’re a mixed bag of people, a bloody good crowd
Take the flag round the world, fly it high…do it Proud….

Fred Hollows gave with a smile and a joke, he had compassion to spare…
And I’d a been honoured to meet such a bloke, gave sight to the blind everywhere
He knived in the sun to give ‘em a start, for the kings to the bums all equal in his heart…
And it always hits me deep inside, I’ve been brought up with Australian Pride
We’re a mixed bag of people, a bloody good crowd
Take the flag round the world, fly it high…do it Proud….

You know I like to listen to John Williamson’s songs, he got merit in his heart…
Goin’ round the country swaggy ‘n thongs, expressing what most of us can’t
He’s in Love with the land he sing about you too, a passionate man we all know him as the Emu…
True Blue, And it always hits me deep inside, I’ve been brought up with Australian Pride
We’re a mixed bag of people, a bloody good crowd
Take the flag round the world, fly it high…
And it always hits me deep inside, I’ve been brought up with Australian Pride
We’re a mixed bag of people, a bloody good crowd
Take the flag round the world, fly it high…do it Proud….

Please have a listen to the above Song by a Singer/Songwriter friend of mine and leave your comment. He is a reluctant artist in need of encouragement and feedback.

The X Factor WINNER

© by Christopher John Petersen

Comment posted to Altiyan's blog on Sunday 21st Nov.

Altiyan, I don’t liken you to any particular front-man from any popular rock band in either Australia or any other country. You are reminiscent of the likes of Joe Camilleri, Michael Hutchence, Doc Neeson or Bon Scott, to name just a few Australian Lead Singers who have/had that something special “The X Factor”. If this was just a singing competition, then I believe that Madison (on the strength of her audition with Whitney Huston’s “I have nothing”) should have won. However, the X Factor is not about emulating another’s performance(s) or perfect pitch singing alone. It is about finding someone who has the “Special Something”, “Stage Presence” and/or “Captivating Believability”. Altiyan you have all that and more “In Spades”. Whether you win this competition or not, Ronan (and many thousands of viewers) know(s) you have what it takes to be successful, not only as a recording artist, but more importantly as a “Live Performer”.

I’d wish you good luck in the final, however you don’t need luck, you are a True Winner already.

God Bless you Altiyan and I can’t wait to book tickets to your first concert tour.

Many say “Spare the rod, spoil the child”, I say, “Spare the Child and to hell with the rod”.

Form the very bowels of agony a child comes forth and is immediately greeted by the mother with absolute Love. Such is God’s Love for us, whether we are a sinner or a Saint. No harm should come to us by the hand of another. For God places his mark on us as he did to Cane (claiming sole rights to any vengeance and retribution for any wrong doing) and later confirmed His exclusive right to judge any sinner when Jesus Christ said “let he who is without sin cast the first stone”. Jesus also taught his followers that it is a wicked servant who is forgiven their debts by their Master and yet fails to do likewise for their subordinates or servants. Jesus also taught that a good tree does not bring forth bad fruit and that everyone shall be known by the words that proceed from them. A newborn child has no judgement or ill feelings towards anyone in the world and if we are to perfect the Love of God and the Love of Jesus Christ in our lives then we should be likewise Loving and devoted to caring for All our fellowman. The Love of God and Jesus Christ are UNCONDITIONAL, WITHOUT BIAS and UNPREJUDICED. If we are to be as Jesus Christ wants us to be which is “as little children” then we are to look on one-another through “innocent eyes”.

I was a sinner and because my sins have been forgiven through God’s Mercy and by the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ and in diligently abiding by all and every instruction given by Jesus Christ, shall never condemn or forsake another to come unto the Lord, A-Men!

My detractors shall become my greatest allies by virtue of the Word of God delivered unto us by Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

It is not for me to determine or decree that anyone should harken unto anything that I write this day, or indeed at any other time. But if ye hath an ear to hear these words I write, then I am glad that they are neither in vain nor spake merely unto the air.

It is an ever-increasing concern to me (and no doubt many others) that Christianity has become so fragmented because of differences of opinion (interpretations) that it is in danger of becoming irrelevant. Did Jesus not say, “A Kingdom that is divided against itself will not stand”? 1 Corinthians 14:33 “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.” So logically the only culprit of the dishevelled state of Christ’s Church is man himself. Christ’s Church has been divided and sent off on more tangents than there are points on a compass. Seriously if the Kingdom of God was in the same inharmonious state, who in their right mind would want to live there for a day, let alone for all eternity?

So which of the Churches of Christ is right if only one can be correct? The Church that was destroyed and raised up again three days later. When Jesus walked among us he didn’t need anyone adding to his words or interpreting them then, nor is it required for anyone to do so now. He did however warn that many shall come in his name and that many will be deceived. Christ’s ministry was delivered in full and word perfect. Ye can either say Yea Yea or Nay Nay to his doctrines, anything else comes from evil. Or in other words “take it or leave it”, Jesus Christ is giving us a chance to be a part of The Kingdom of God, not a democracy or any sort of unruly rabble!

Philippians 3:14-21 “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.  Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.  Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.  Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.  (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:  Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)  For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:  Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.”

May God Bless you in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.

You’re not my Friend.

One of my greatest Blessings is my son Jens (Danish form of James) Christian Immanuel who has just recently turned three years old. He teaches me more than any adult I know. He wants my approval and my Love soo much that if he doesn’t receive it, he is totally heartbroken. If I raise my voice or change it’s tone from normal and calm, then he immediately “goes to tears” and is inconsolable without receiving reassurance and the mandatory hug. Even if it were only in alarm of impending danger, the tears flow, for he thinks I am displeased with him, when in fact I am merely trying to protect him from danger.

About six months ago, he started saying “you’re not coming to my birthday” whenever things didn’t go the way he wanted them to go.

Nowadays if things don’t go the way he wants them to go, he sits on the floor and with his lips pouted and eyes looking up to you from a bowed head, he says, “You’re not my Friend”.

When we raise our voices to adults, more often than not they will simply "zone out" either metaphorically or literally putting their fingers in their ears, cringing in a corner and awaiting the expected explosion.

Why won't they allow Same Sex Marriages?

Gay and Lesbian Marriages?  In fact all marriages including heterosexual marriages are allowed by The Grace of God. Enmity (differences) was only put between Adam and Eve and between Adam’s seed and Eve’s seed (so prior to them sinning they must have been of the same seed) and from then onwards required in sorrow and conception to bring forth children and live by the sweat of their brow as a punishment for being disobedient, NOT AS A REWARD.  It is not a breach of a commandment to be bound and faithful to your partner, it is only a sin to commit adultery or fornicate. If two people take up being together then “Let them be married”. If God’s will is such that he can say “let there be light” and there be light, then surely if he said “let them be married”, then they can be married. We are all God’s children (whether we believe it or not) and what father who’s child asks of him bread, would give them a stone?

Matt.18: 18-20 “Verily I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.  Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father, which is in heaven.  For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

Marriage is after all not a Heavenly institution, but rather an earthly/worldly institution, Adam and Eve where husband and wife by the Grace of God (who on earth married them?).  Indeed the fact God allows any marriages at all is a sign of His Grace and Love and if two people feel so strongly as being part of each the other that they desire not to be separate, then let them be as one in marriage and considered one in flesh on earth and in Heaven.

Matt.22: 30 “For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.”

In praying “The Lord’s Prayer”, we pray “Our Farther which art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name, thy Kingdom come, thy will be done in earth as it is in Heaven”.  If it is not God’s Will for ANYONE to marry in Heaven, then in fact we are praying for an end to all marriages on earth.  And then we pray “give us this day, our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil”. Therein we are asking God to provide for us what we need, yet we are happy to deny others what they need (to be married). By disallowing a couple from being married (thereby becoming one flesh which cannot sin against itself), aren’t we guilty of causing them to live in sin and commit adultery? Who then is the greater sinner? Yet we go on to ask to be forgiven our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.

Please forgive anyone for accusing you of being hypocrites!

God Bless you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Christopher John Petersen.

Inspired by what took place whilst helping a Perfect Stranger.

People, who are of this world and not of God’s Kingdom, simply cannot comprehend, let alone understand how or why I do the things I do or behave in a manner altogether alien to them.  They think I am from another planet and technically I suppose they are right, for they are of this world and I am of another.  To a Disciple of Christ, it is so easy to identify the difference by what is sealed in their foreheads. Those of the world are the first to give advice (usually insistently and without being asked for it) and the last to listen to or take any advice.  Whereas those who are not of the world are they that first of all listen and offer advise when it is asked for or if discerned to be required.  Those of the world garner money and possessions around them like there’s on tomorrow, some will stop at nothing to acquire them, then zealously defend against their loss to the point of worrying themselves into an early grave.  The Abiding Christian however, is the last to ask for money or seek to acquire it and the first to give it away and think nothing of it.  Why would anyone sow seeds for a harvest in which they will not directly profit and only be remunerated for their time and efforts after they die?  The answer has to do with Abiding, Believing, Commitment, Devotion, Embodiment, Faith, Generosity, Healing, Integrity, Jesus-like, Karma, Love, Ministry, Nay, Obedience, Perseverance, Questioning, Reverence, Salvation, Truth, Unselfishness, Virtues, Willpower, X (an unknown, being anonymous, shouldering or bearing a cross), Yea and Zealousness.   Indeed a complete raft of reasons and the A to Z of Abiding in and being one with Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  When you work on the world’s time, you can work hard and long and be paid a King’s Ransome for your efforts, only for it all to be in vain and worthless to you in the end. When you work on God’s Time, there is no mad hurry as God has all the time in the world and the rewards are Priceless (of more value than can ever be imagined).

For my part, I would much rather be “Working On God’s Time”, than to be working on borrowed time.  Furthermore, God’s Savings Plan (Saving souls and Heavenly Rewards) is not at the mercy of Wall Street.

May God’s Blessing through Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ be upon you all.

"MANKIND" a poem from the book "The Forgotten Foundling" by Christopher John Petersen

Adam has been split many times but when you put all the pieces of the puzzle back together, the answer still is one.

Mankind,
is what we need,
for kind men,
have no greed.

Brotherhood and equality,
will set us free,
this domineering dictators,
cannot see.

Peace of mind,
is yours to be got,
and many seek it,
for it means a lot.

for those who seek,
and do not find,
the Grail you seek,
is your mind.

Before you bring judgement,
and slander and curse,
think how you'd feel,
if the roles were reverse?

Discretion's the better part of valour,
of this you can be sure,
as the world's seen lots of fighting,
do we really need any more?

It takes two to tango,
consider carefully what you say,
and if agreement isn't reached,
then simply walk away.

Thor's the host of thunder,
"Adamsapple" the forbidden fruit,
also called the thoraxe,
be meek and keep it mute.

Individuals argue,
and fight unto the end,
let's all be singular plural,
and all be for A-MEN.

Life is but a riddle,
not meant in jest,
but merely to find out,
if we pass the test.

Love thy neighbours,
as you would have they you,
and forgivest thee they,
that know not what they do.

Love is like a flower,
the seeds of which we sow,
and if we're very careful,
we'll see it blossom and grow.

We're all each only fractions,
the sum of which is one,
let's all join hands together,
and see peace on Earth begun.

May God's Blessing be upon you all AMEN

Undying Love For A Love That Is Dying (complete) by Christopher John Petersen

UNDYING LOVE FOR A LOVE THAT IS DYING

The artist put himself to task,
to realise a dream;
and gathered up and set it so,
it did not show a seam.

with loving hands he polished it,
and when each piece was done;
he set it all in motion,
giving life to every one.

Then he put a keeper in it's midst,
and said "Watch over it";
then saw he needed company,
and so of his breast did knit.

then said "Come see what I've cast on,
from a stitch across your heart;
this stitch to remind both of you,
that you should never part".

Now looking upon his loving work,
behold it has been dashed;
for some have come along, and with
a tarnished brush have splashed;

With fond filled fancies,
of lavish meadows Green;
of shimmering Sunkissed dewdrops,
on countless blossoms sheen.

An array of fossils and footsteps,
of all pleasantries ever seen;
now memories locked in teardrops,
of all that once had been.

Mother Earth, once plump and fruitful,
laid waste by foolish schemes;
left in the hands of ignorant caretakers,
is now falling apart at the seams.

All the artist's beloved creations,
have all but come and went;
shall the Harvest Moon not bless our skies,
'til this beloved Earth is spent?

Despondent over desolate spaces,
we dream the poet's dream;
of living in tranquil places,
with peace on Earth serene.

To live in joyous frivolity,
with nothing to bring us down;
to look in all directions,
and nay have cause to frown.

May God help us to understand and respect all that is given us A-MEN

An Ode To Those Of The Harvest (complete) by Christopher John Petersen

AN ODE TO THOSE OF THE HARVEST

In those God hath invested,
He shall not lose one;
who're understandingly prepared to take the plunge,
and do the bidding of His Son.

For they who believe in God's Word,
beyond a shadow of a doubt;
seek those lost in the wilderness, and help
them find the only way out.

Of they shall come an hundred, fifty
ten, or maybe just one;
gathering those that are lost, to the flock of Christ
God's only begotten Son.

For there is more rejoicing in Heaven,
to the gathering of these ones;
than for all of those that went not astray,
from the flock that these foundlings do come.

Because the mass of God increases, as one
joins the body of Christ;
and so all in Heaven celebrate, singing
praises of sheer delight.

Light comes not from darkness,
nor does darkness come from light;
if thou art filled with the Light that the Love of God brings,
thou art truly a blessed sight.

We are all, each out of sintax,
in err, way over our head;
when we repent and believe in Jesus Christ,
it's paid with the Blood that He shed.

CHRIST is God's only begotten Son, and
I to Jesus have truly come;
AN, another word for being one,
and so a CHRISTIAN I've become.

Finders keep us,
in our Lord Jesus;
Jesus keep us,
as your reapers.

My God through Jesus Christ save us all. A-MEN.

An extract from my poem "An Ode To Those Of The Harvest"

"CHRIST is God's only begotten Son, and
I to Jesus have truly come;
AN, another word for being one,
and so a CHRISTIAN I've become."

-----

I "follow" Jesus Christ and in all his doctrines abide, if thou shouldst so desire that we should tarry together abiding and walking in the “Light of God’s Truth” on our journey, then God willing, let it be so.

Does the Government Really Care about us?

Although the Government tries to make out that they are genuinely concerned about it’s citizens well being, when you fully consider what they are doing and how they are going about it, then it becomes perfectly clear where their True Priorities lie.

Illegal Drugs of Dependence;

Is the government really concerned for the people who are dependant on illegal drugs? Or is their only real concern, controlling the spread of diseases through the use of shared needles by intravenous drug users etcetera? The government spends millions of dollars on Safe Injecting Rooms and supplying free needles to people dependent on Illegal Drugs to financially assist them in continuing their addiction. They also provide millions of dollars toward clinics that assist in rehabilitating people who are dependent on illegal drugs. They even go so far as to provide substitute drugs at no charge to help people to quit their addiction to illegal drugs of dependence. They also promote and encourage people from as early as school age that sex is a recreational activity, yet act soo surprised about the increase in the cases of HIV and other STD’s. What the government misses out on getting because they haven’t introduced a Tax on Sex, they more than makeup on the sales taxes of associated products.

Legal Drugs of Dependence;

If however you are unfortunate enough to have developed dependence to Legal Drugs such as Nicotine or Alcohol, the only thing you can expect the Government to do is to burden you with massive additional taxes. One could also add to this category gambling because the “rush” generated from the prospect of a big win is also addictive and through lack of self control can become a serious financial problem. Another dependence the government is now being lobbied to introduce a tax on is “comfort foods” and foods that contain excessive amounts of fats and/or sugar, which are associated with the development of obesity.

Hardly Equitable and Fair;

The most disparaging fact about this situation is that billions of dollars of government revenue is freely spent on rehabilitation/treatments for people dependent/addicted to illegal/illicit drugs (the sale of which contributes NIL REVENUE). Yet, if you are unfortunate enough to get hooked on Cigarettes, Alcohol, Gambling or Eating the wrong types of food(s), all of which generate 10’s of Billions of Dollars in Tax Revenue to the Government each year, the most you can expect from the Government to assist you in beating your dependence/addiction is Lip Service on a (supposed) “Help/Quit Line” and/or a “How To” brochure (Do It Yourself). The fact is that the Government doesn’t want to stop a person from being addicted to anything that generates additional tax revenue(s); they just want to stop a person from being addicted to anything that doesn’t generate additional revenue for them.

How could this be fixed?

If the Government seriously wanted to assist people who have a habitual addiction, then why are they not doing the following? Have the cost of treatment/rehabilitation covered 100% by Medicare and any required medication (quit smoking aids) listed on the PBS for those persons quitting under the supervision and assistance of their Doctor. A similar approach could also be taken for persons who are chronically over weight. Unfortunately, the Governments/public idealism cannot be afforded by those who are effected/addicted, because the treatments are more expensive than continuation of their addiction(s). Rather than embracing and assisting people to get over disorders/addictions; the general public and government shun and/or alienate people who are in the most need of their help.

Burning of the Qur’an/Coran/Koran by Terry Jones of “Dove World Outreach Center”.

Below is my response to the proposed Burning of the Qur’an/Coran/Koran by Terry Jones of “Dove World Outreach Center”.

German Jewish poet Heinrich Heine wrote in 1820-1821 "Where they burn books, they will also burn people." (more than 100 years before the Nazis)

Whether you add fire to the fuel or fuel to the fire, the result will be the same.

Pastor Terry Jones is beholding a speck in another religion way of seeing things, and behold there is a LOG in his own view.

"Woe unto the world because of offences! For it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!" Matthew 18:7

The only things holy about war/wars are the people who are killed in them.

Pastor Terry Jones, you are acting like a perfect example of the problem(s) in the world, which cause so much violence, resentment and hatred that leadeth to war(s).

Neither the Qur'an nor Christ encourages war, only religion, cults and sects. Only weak Gods need mere mortals to fight their battles. Oh ye of little faith!

In the sincere hope Pastor Terry Jones will reconsider signing a death warrant for those who are not guilty nor desire him to perform his juvenile prank.

People fear what they do not understand. Terry Jones should Fear Christ and his judgement to come, for he neither understands nor abides in Christ and his teachings. His intentions are purely of an ANTICHRIST.

How many Independents does it take to change a light bulb?

Well today’s LONG AWAITED decision of the Three/Two Amigos comes as little surprise to anybody that can see the big picture (the self serving interests of the Two Amigos).

It was always clear that they where only interested in siding with the party that could best guarantee that they could rule the roost for a full term of three years. Only the ALP could give them that, because if they went with the Coalition, come July 2011 the incoming Senate could most likely cause a trigger for a Double Dissolution of Government and an early election and a premature end to their newly gifted powers.

They have decided to Dance with the Devil on an Emissions Trading Scheme, a Mining Super Profits Tax (which the Greens have said they want to be 50% not 30%) and a National Broadband Network with an “open ended budget” just to name a few. Rather than supporting the TRUE NATIONAL INTERESTS and siding with the party that won the most primary votes, the most on 2pp and the most seats in the house.

The only true reason they strung out announcing their choice was “to make it look like they had agonised and lost sleep over coming to their decision”. At least Bob Katter had the courage of his convictions and didn't sell-out to the highest bidder.

When I went to School, CHEATS were given an “F” for FAIL.

When I was in school, teachers took great pleasure handing out an “F” to students caught cheating and furthermore had no compunction letting their other classmates know about it.  Well maybe there is more truth to the saying “it takes one to know one” than we previously thought.  Maybe they are so good at detecting students cheating because they are cheats themselves?  Aren’t School Principals and Teachers supposed to be role models and set standards to those who look up to them for guidance and instruction?

It seems Teachers are only too happy to give a damming assessment (following an exam) of a student(s), which could see them in Struggle Street for the rest of their lives.  Yet the Teachers and/or Schools don’t want a True and Fair Assessment of their abilities to impart their knowledge and/or teach our children.  I find it deplorable that so many schools and teachers have resorted to cheating in the NAPLAN TESTING and in some cases conspired with accomplices or asked for some students not to attend during the tests.  And all for the purpose of giving a Teacher and/or School a HIGHER GRADE THAN THEY DISERVE and MORE FUNDING TO DO OBVIOUSLY INFERIOR WORK.  I’m afraid I do not tolerate cheats very well, however, TOLERATE HYPOCRITES EVEN LESS!

“Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.” Matthew chapter 25 verse 28.

They by their own judgement (by resorting to cheating) are not worthy of holding their positions.  Neither are they worthy of receiving additional funding for doing inferior work.  Nor should our children be exposed to their deceitful ways and practices.

In True Welsh Style; Julia Gillard refuses to surrender the Torch.

To Julia Gillard (also from Wales) I dedicate this Villanelle by Welsh poet DYLAN THOMAS.

"Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light."

So desperate is she to not surrender the torch to Tony Abbott, she is even courting a WA National to side with her.

OH JULIA! Please go gentle into this goodnight,
Rage not against the passing of the light.

You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink.

Great Teacher’s command the respect of their students, but they never demand it. Like any good tradesperson, they make what they do to those around them seem like Childs play. They never try to “force feed” their pupils, merely have the ability to impart their knowledge by way of captivating their students attention, making the material/subject interesting and the lesson rewarding thereby fulfilling the newly created desire to know more about it. Disruptive and unruly behaviour by students by and large shouldn’t be seen as a problem student, but rather as a symptom of something fundamentally being wrong in the classroom. Interesting word that, fund-a-mental. It is all too easy to blame someone else, than to admit we are doing something wrong ourselves.

Many Teachers’ call themselves so, but the recognition of their ability lies in the opinion of their students. One example of what I mean is Jesus Christ. How many times did he refer to himself as a Teacher? Yet, how many of his followers referred to him as such? Another example of more recent times is the late Professor Julius Sumner Miller. He was ridiculed by his peers as a crackpot, yet was adored by many for making an otherwise unattractive subject of physics interesting and fun. He didn’t insult the intelligence of his students by trying to tell them anything, but rather relied on them to tell him “why is it so”. Similarly Christ spoke to those without his understanding in parables (riddles) and left it to his audience to figure it out for themselves.

This concept of how bring people around to your way of thinking is largely the basis of Dale Carnegie’s book/philosophy “How To Win Friends And Influence People” which basically teaches that the best way to get people to agree with you is to let them think they thought of the answer themselves. Think of the proposition as the “seed” and the answer as the “harvest”. Or in a biblical sense, one person sows (plants the seed) and another reaps (harvests the crop). All True Teachers have this ability, but sadly many are left wanting. It is so easy to be so sure about something that we fall into the trap of trying to tell the whole world about it, only to become disenchanted and frustrated that nobody will accept what we have to say. There we are shouting it from the rooftops and everybody is standing around with their fingers in their ears. What was forgotten was the process by which we ourselves became so enchanted with it in the first place. Our enthusiasm was born from the discovery or unveiling of what previously was a mystery or unknown.

In closing I would like to quote the late Professor Julius Sumner Miller who said "The hope I have here is simply summed up: To stir your imagination, awaken your interest, arouse your curiosity, enliven your spirit - all with the purpose of bringing you to ask, as young Maxwell put it, "What's the go of it?" - or, as Kepler had it, "why things are as they are and not otherwise". Or, more simply in my own phrase, why is it so?"
We will all have many Teachers throughout our lives and they are those who teach us to seek and find the answers rather than trying to give them to us without establishing a good foundation.

Fax sent to Governor Genaral about vote counting.

RE: Miscounting of votes in Federal Election 2010

Your Excellency,
Redirecting votes to the unintended recipient is hardly a fair and equal electoral system. A Federal Election is supposed to be “A Popularity Contest” and the result should closely resemble the “wishes of the people” rather than “a magician’s trick” using slide of hand and deception. Why then is the possible outcome (based on 2 party preferred counting of votes) arriving at a contrary conclusion to the popular wishes of the Nation?

Senator Bob Brown through his entire electoral campaigning for the GREENS seduced voters to vote GREEN as an alternative to voting for either ALP or Liberal/National. When Mark Latham advised people to lodge “Blank Ballots” as a protest vote against both ALP and Liberal/National. Senator Bob Brown then used that opportunity to advise voters “Mark Latham is giving 2nd rate advise to people in advising them to leave their ballot blank, if you don’t wish to vote for ALP or Liberal/National then vote for the GREENS”. Senator Bob Brown knew full well that GREEN preferences (by and large) would flow-on to the ALP. Had those people’s protest votes been lodged as being blank, then ALP wouldn’t have received any votes via slide of hand.

As Senator Bob Brown openly promoted the election as a 3 Corner Contest and furthermore that a vote for the GREENS was an “alternative choice” to voting for either the ALP or the Coalition, preferences of GREEN votes should not be distributed to either the ALP or the Coalition. People voting for the GREENS “clearly didn’t want to vote for either of the 2 major parties” and so the only fair way to count the votes of the election is on a 3 Party Preferred basis. Counting on a 2 Party Preferred basis is ensuring a DISTORTED OUTCOME and doesn’t TRULY REFLECT THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE.

Based on primary votes alone, the “will of the people” was clearly for Tony Abbott MHP and the Coalition to form the Next Federal Government of Australia. On 1 vote 1 value the Coalition would currently have a 5-6-seat majority. Also Senate seats shouldn’t be distributed until all primary votes are tallied.

Maybe it is time for Australia to move to a “less ambiguous” voting system where a vote carries only “one outcome” rather than endless permutations? It would also save the taxpayer’s a lot of money counting preferences for weeks on end at great expense to the Nation.

In the Hope the True Voice of Her Majesty’s subjects is heard,

Mr. Christopher John Petersen.

I am gathering a vast amount of evidence about this conspiracy to stymie (GAG) public debate about the ALP, GREENS and others assisting them in this "War on Freedom of Speech" in public social networking/media sites.

Please leave comments ESPECIALLY if you have had similar experiences of your comments being blocked on sites such as Twitter.

Of Love I Say…

OF LOVE I SAY...

That which one besets is usually begotten also.
For what you are within is without you and what is not within you you're without.
If you lost your Love, isn't that what happened?
If you've never been in Love, why not?
And if you'll never Love again, enjoy what's left of your lonely life ahead of you.
Sure you may have other partners, but are you really together and/or happy, if your Hearts are not intertwined?

You see, Love only starts, when in the beginning you spawn,
your feelings in words...for who gladdens your Heart...
It comes home to roost, when received by that one,
and fastens a bond, that can’t be undone…

Deep Thoughts and Ponderments

I've oft times given great thought to that of minuscule importance, but more importantly many times given little or no thought to things paramount.
Times such as these, of pondering my own belittleness, ought for and accomplishing nothing, thereby denying the time granted me from contributing much and maybe even making some sort of a difference.

Esoteric people, from their deep,
lay to rest their feel…
In the Hope, another shall lift them up,
and utterly make them real.

ALP’s war on freedom of speech.

Has anyone noticed how many twitter accounts Julia Gillard is following in comparison to Tony Abbott? Tony has 18,178 followers and is following 20. Julia Gillard has 39,925 followers and is following 24,946 (numbers correct at time of posting this article). Isn’t Julia “supposed” to be running the country? Yet has so much time on her hands that she can follow so many twitterers. How very civically minded she is.
I joined Twitter only a few days ago in order to have my views heard by the Australian Voters before they decide who to vote for at the up-coming election in September 2010. Within minutes of sending my first tweet on Twitter (which had a link to my blog) low and behold Julia Gillard appeared as my very first follower on Twitter. At the time I was suitably impressed, but lately have discovered that none of my now 11 tweets can be found on Twitter. It now seems certain that the ALP are intercepting and deleting tweets that they do not approve of people/voters “being allowed” to view.
Isn’t that censorship?
And on what grounds?
Has anyone else been GAGGED by the ALP?
SOO MUCH FOR FREEDOM OF SPEECH IN AUSTRALIA!

ALP’s hypocrisy knows no bounds.

The latest propaganda the ALP are spreading in an effort to get re-elected in 2010 is an insult to the intelligence of Australian Voters. They’re at war with the Liberal Party to win the fight to govern Australia and as anyone knows the “first victim of war is THE TRUTH”. They would have the voters believe that the Liberal’s proposed tax on larger companies to fund maternity leave commitments will drive up prices we will pay for goods and services. Yet they somehow expect us to believe that their 3% increase to employer funded superannuation will be absorbed by the employer(s)/shareholder(s). Furthermore, that a “Big New Tax” on Coal & Iron-ore will not diminish dividends to shareholders (mostly super funds) or conversely drive up prices locally for everything that uses Coal, Iron & Steel in its manufacture and a flow-on effect to everything and everyone that uses them.
What hypocrites!

Labor fails LAB test again.

Julia Gillard’s LABOR PARTY (in Australian English spelt LABOUR), as with all previously led LABOR PARTY’S again fail the LAB TEST (LAB = Liars and Backstabbers). They seem to invariably subscribe to the notion “if you can’t dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit”. Watching LABOR “supposedly” answering questions in Question Time (in either house) is more like watching Buffoons who turn it into a sideshow or circus act. If LABOR truly believes in equal pay for equal work, then their pay should be reduced accordingly, as I’m sure Clowns and Comedians are not on 6 figure salaries.
P.s. If a “spell checker” set to “Australian English” detects “Labor” as a mistake, then hopefully voters will come to the same conclusion prior to polling day 2010.

Freelance writing with at least a modicum of ethics.

Being a newbie to blogging, it is very refreshing to read Bianca Raven's posts as I embark on my research on what to do and what to not, when it comes to how to present and conduct myself as a freelance writer/blogger. It is encouraging to read that ethics counts for something in this day and age. Having been labelled as being atavistic by a former staff member, I find it difficult fitting in to this dog eat dog world where standards have fallen to the point where "none" is considered a high achievement. I will continue to visit and read Bianca's posts as they have emboldened me to participate where I have been reluctant to do so in the past.

Thou shalt not kill.

Newsreader’s take note: Kill/killed = Intentionally causing death.

How can anybody be killed in an accident?
If it was an accident then they died, they were not killed.
For some inexplicable reason reporters and/or newsreaders seem to think the words “died” and “killed” are synonymous. Otherwise they are substituting one for the other in order to sensationalise the story at the expense accurate journalism/reporting and the integrity of the English Language.
People die of natural causes and also in accidents and are killed in wars and by murderers and assassins.
P.s. I wouldn't consider a "Drink Driver" as being vilified when reporting anyone dying as a result as being "killed".

Julia Gillard's contributions to illiteracy in Australia.

Imployed, imployer, imployee and imployment are some of Julia Gillard's contributions to illiteracy in Australia. The fact she has never married, maybe we should address her as “Miss Pronunciation”? "Moving Forward" Julia, they should be pronounced employed, employer, employee and employment. Julia you are the Prime Minster of Australia and the former Minister for Education and should be setting a better example to Australia’s impressionable youth. Frequently mispronounced words cause difficulties for children/people trying to learn English and also spelling difficulties.
Offen/ofden, if a person can't say often then they should try saying frequently instead. Other examples are (but not limited to); darnce, darnced, darncing, charnce, charnced, plarnt, plarnting and plarnted. Why do people add an "r" when there isn't one? Is it their feeble attempt to sound sophisticated or important? I think rather that it is a sad indictment of their lack of consideration for other people endeavouring to learn the English language.
I do not criticize everyone who mispronounce words, however I think Newsreaders, Reporters, Politicians and Hosts of Children’s Shows especially should be setting better examples.

AN UNTARNISHED LANDSCAPE (by C J Petersen July 2010)

AN UNTARNISHED LANDSCAPE

That which is now, or ever may be,
Is not in my heart, nor am ought for to see.
But that which once was, should it e'er come once more,
May I bear witness, to marvel of and adore.

Creditcard Debitcard Skimming On The Rise

I noticed that "A Current Affair" (Australian Current Affairs Program) ran another story tonight on how thieves are gaining access to unsuspecting card-holder's bank accounts and credit card accounts. Only a few months ago the same story was aired (possibly by the same program) and within a day or so I had come up with the solution to the problem and over the next few days I had devised a way to make all ID/Credit/Debit Cards 100% secure from use by anyone else other than the rightful owner. They would be so secure that if a thief found one on the street, the thief would hand the card in to the Police or at worst just not bother to pick the card up at all.
BUT WHO REALLY CARES?
I took my concerns about the lax (bordering on non-existant) security measurers adopted by almost all merchants to a local Petrol Station to demonstrate the problem with their use of the eftpos terminals and offered my simple solution and the response I got was basically "Tell Someone Who Cares". They said "we use what is supplied by the bank" but I highly doubt they are abiding by the conditions of use.
So I decided to go and see my local Bank Manager about the same issue and also about getting more secure cards produced incorporating my security features. She listened to the basic jist of my concerns and solutions and then fobed me off asking me to put all my ideas/solutions into an Email and send it to her (as she was too busy and had to go). She (just like Barbra on TV) lives in "Bank World". And NO, she wasn't an ANZ Bank Manager.
I tried to contact A Current Affair with my solution to the problem and never even got any sort of response.
So I put it to my readers:
Would you like this problem solved?
And who would be interested in assisting me with my thief proof cards?

Teaching Standards

The person most responsible for my science teacher (Mrs Sommers) being in tears when I hooked the Bunsen burners up to the taps or supplied the rubber-bands for the rubber-band fights in the classroom was probably the most brilliant teacher of more recent times. I salute him and take off my hat to the MASTER TEACHER. What a novel idea! Teaching without needing to read books, GENIUS! I include some of his quotes below.

"The hope I have here is simply summed up: To stir your imagination, awaken your interest, arouse your curiosity, enliven your spirit - all with the purpose of bringing you to ask, as young Maxwell put it, "What's the go of it?" - or, as Kepler had it, "why things are as they are and not otherwise". Or, more simply in my own phrase, why is it so?"

Professor Julius Sumner Miller - In producing his series called "Why is it so?", was condemned and ridiculed by his peers, but loved and adored by his audience/students.

"All of a half-century ago-when I was a little boy on the farm in my native New England – I remember asking all kinds of questions. What is the Earth made of? Why is the sky blue? Why is the sunset red? How does a bird soar? Why does a brook gurgle? How does an earthworm crawl? Why is a dewdrop round? Why does corn pop? Why does a wood fire crackle? And a thousand like questions. To a few I got the answers in reading. To some I got the answers in dialogue with my Mama and my Papa and with my teachers. Some I thought out – not too well, to be sure – but I was learning to think. By this device – ever questioning – ever uncertain – I gathered up a rather massive body of knowledge."Professor Julius Sumner Miller, American science populariser, born on May 17, 1909

"The schools destroy the holy spirit of curiosity."Professor Julius Sumner Miller; interview, Simply Living magazine, Vol. 2, No 10

"I'm all for having the leaders of nations meet on the open field with a sword."Professor Julius Sumner Miller; ibid (think about it, all the leaders and only one sword)

"Enthusiasm. Without it we are dead."Professor Julius Sumner Miller

"Oh, yes! I find this place where I get the mostest light – the mostest light. The mostest. That's the superlative of 'most'. I'm reciting something of Euclid. Beautiful – you should read it!"Professor Julius Sumner Miller

"My wife engages in some imaginative adventures, and she put that together from turkey bones. Isn't that fantastic? Look at that. Look at that creature. Out – born out of her mind."Professor Julius Sumner Miller

To My Son Justin

Many things Canst one gather:
Much knowledge canst one know:
But greater things canst one not do;
Than Lovest thee, as I do so.

To My Daughter Jessica

The Earth spins and revolveth once,
They say a day is past!
and then spins thrice, and three times more,
say they then, a week is spent!
Two score of these, plus ten and two,
and then a year has gone!
But no matter what passing of time may come, I’ll never be Loving you not!

I suppose I should start with "Hello World" as this is my inaugural post to my first blog. Like it or not, I will be posting my opinions/views on issues relating to but not limited to Current Affairs, Politics, Business Ideas and Social Issues in Australia to name a few.
It will no doubt be ad hoc and invite my readers to comment and/or make suggestions on subject matter.
Until next time, keep well and safe.
